I have a connection with the start of Jesper when he is in the jail cell before he starts telling the story excplaining how he got in the cell. He said the he had one last letter to write to his family before his execution date, but cannot write it because the Nazis pulled out his fingernails. I connect to this because when I was around 8 or 9 years old i slammed my thumb in a car door. It was very painful and the my finger nail fell off later. I don't think i could imagin getting all of them pulled out with tweezers! Mine fell out naturally later but his was unnaturally pulled out!
in the bigining this book this guy named Jasper has to riget this finile leter and the nazes have puled of his finger nails puled off. i think that is kind off un human and i whuold definitly be hared to do.
I only have one connection and that is when Jesper is getting his finger nails pulled out by an nazi soldier and they are throbing and of corse herting alot so conection was when I was at Hillcrest school and I was hanging out with my frinds and there is this little kid comes along and my friands know him so he is hi-fiving my friends so I see if he wants to hi-five me and he kicks my fingers and my ring finger had a split down the mittle and my finger nail almost came off and it was herting and throbing just like Jesper's finger nails.
I can connect to when Jesper gets hit by the Nazis trunk and gets his hands pinned behind him by a Nazis solider. It was like when my brother ran we over with his bike when i was 7 years old and left the bike on me.
I had another connection and that was were Jesper was drowning in salt water and he met Fredrik and then he got to know him better and he said his parents isn't strict just like mine. Well I connected to that because my parents are not strict like Jesper's parents because they let me go over to my friends house or go to the movies with my friends.
@Alex99 That must of been really bad! I remember how that little kid randomly kicked you in the fingers! I have two connections to that. When I was around 8 years old I slammed my thumb in are car door and it fell off, and when I was 11 I got hit in the finger with a basket ball and cracked it half off. I know how you feel man, it's really painful but to have it fully pulled out unnaturally, and if I may say so most likely worse than what happend to both of us. Also having all of them pulled is probably 3 times amount of pain. You have a great connection, and I really enjoyed this book.
